Just so I know if I need to update my skin, are there any skin changes?

Any trick to getting Trailers to play? I installed the real Quicktime from Apple's page, and can play the trailer files directly from the plugins directory. But when I try to play them from the plugin itself, usually it just goes to a black screen and then returns (just like it did when I didn't have quicktime installed), or sometimes it plays loud digital noise but no video.

Nevermind the above, I hosed off Quicktime and installed ffdshow instead using the k-lite codec pack and the trailers work fine. I never really wanted Quicktime on my pvr anyway.

Great plugin by the way, it works wonderfully, thank you.

I'm sure you're expecting this... the old "i just discovered your plugin, it's great and all and now here's what I think you should change since you have nothing better to do but respond to the whims of every schmuck in the forum" sort of post. My apologies, but here's my entry into that pantheon:

First, the simplest: once you select 'By Cinema', and then go into a cinema and select a film, and then ask for show times, there's no indication on the showtime screen which cinema it is you're looking at. If you're popping in and out of different cinemas, or showing the showtime screen to someone else who didn't follow the path you took to get there, it'd be nice if it just displayed at least the cinema name above the list of times.

Item two, slightly more involved, but should be doable: Can you put the current date and time on any page displaying showtimes? "What time is it now?" is always the very next question asked upon viewing a list of showtimes.

Item three, probably too much work: Highlight the showtimes for the current day in some way. I realize this may be more work than it's worth, though perhaps it's quite simple.

All wishes apart from #3 have been added to the todo list. Highlighting showtimes would just be too difficult to do due to the scraping and display.

And I’m trying to get the list of all films in the theater from http://www.cinebel.be/nl/bioscoop/765-Kinepolis-Imagibraine.htm but he gives me only the name of the cinema but no list, message displayed was : Films not found.

But problem is solved don’t know how but it works again.

I have Vista Home Premium and it seems the updater does not work. Everytime I try to run it, Windows pops up a box saying the program stopped running. I don't have any other messages. Maybe I should look at the Event Viewer?

Can you post this log file: C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\Plugins\InternationalCinemaListi ngs\InternationalCinemaListingsPlugIn2.exe.log

Sorry, it did not write anything on the log and it did not write anything to the event viewer so I don't know how to tell you what's causing the program crash. I tried it on my XP computer and it does the same thing, crash but no log or entries in the event viewer

In the config app untick "Download trailers if available" and all the options on the "IMDB Lookup" tab.Click OK twice to save.

What happens now if you run the updater?

Just ran here using your posted config with no problems

A few questions:

Is this from a fresh download and install from the wiki (http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/Cinema). Version 7.2?
Can you list the files in C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\Plugins\InternationalCinemaListi ngs\ and C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\Plugins\common\
Does it crash immediately or after a while?

mrxtc89117
2008-12-19, 06:37 PM
It crashes immediately. My program path is:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Devnz\GBPVR\Plugins\InternationalCinemaListi ngs

Vista puts all its 32 bit programs in \program files (x86)

the internationalcinemalistings directory contains
\poster
\trailers
cinemas.xml
films.xml
showings.xml
sources.xml
InternationalCinemaListings_readme.txt
InternationalCinemaListingsPlugIn2.dll dated 08/27/2008
InternationalCinemaListingsUpdater.exe dated 09/27/2008

the plugins\common directory contains
\seriesinfo
CommonGBPVRUtilities.dll dated 01/07/2007
GbpvrUiElements.dll dated 03/01/2007
HtmlAgilityPack.dll dated 11/03/2007
vjslib.dll dated 09/23/2005
WizRegExFilterTester.exe dated 06/21/2008
WizUiHelper.dll dated 10/28/2008
WizWebHelper.dll dated 11/20/2008

Hope that helps. Thanks

I installed a new card and now I am unable to view trailers. I have attached the log file, playback settings amd misc config. I have both quicktime and ffdshow. Could anybody help?

Thanks in advance.

Found the thread referencing the QuickTime DirectShow filter. I guess the full QuickTime doesn't have it. I downloaded a couple of versions. The first did not help but the second, from MediaLooks, cured my problem.

Just installed this great plug-in, but it fails to update from imdb. Looking at the log files I noticed the location the plug-in was going to to get updates. I went to the location myself and IMDB said location does not exist. I then manually when to showstimes and put in my zipcode and then found the reason for the failure. Below there is the url the plug in is going to and the actual url that should be used:

incorrect url: http://www.imdb.com/showtimes/cinema/56308/2009-01-28
correct url: http://www.imdb.com/showtimes/location/56308/2009-01-28

Perhaps I'm looking at this to simplisticly, but thought I would put this out in hopes to get it working.

If it's just the URL that's changed, and not the web pages themselves, then you can try replacing cinema with location in the IMDB section of C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\Plugins\InternationalCinemaListi ngs\sources.xml

<!-- listings URLS -->
<cinemaURL><![CDATA[http://www.imdb.com/showtimes/cinema/%CINEMAID%/%DATE%]]></cinemaURL>

<filmURL><![CDATA[http://www.imdb.com/title/%FILMLINK%]]></filmURL>

Just so you know, it wont scrape anything on the fandango website for the cinema plugin except the movie titles and times. It looks like the web page changed. I switched to IMDB for now. I liked how clean it scraped with fandango. Great plugin!

Thanks for the heads up. It's because of this type of thing I'm migrating towards Google Movies (as one global source).
