thanks KaraokeStu, good to know other peoples systems and how they intend to use it.

the system im designing it around is

CPU: Cored i5 3.6GHZ
Mem: 16GB (4GB as a RAM Drive for live tv buffer)
Tuner: DVB-S2 Quad TBS-6984
Channels: 68 ish
Users: 3 maybe 4, having a general "Home" user for the lounge and personal one for bedrooms, so if I record "Serial Killer Sunday" on CI (which I dont really want my 3 year old seeing, it will only be visible in my bedroom).
EPG Source: xmltv and DVB-S feed (this is handy info, want someone to test every type of source for the "Refresh EPG" button)
Browsers: Chrome

ill be adding some statistics reporting to the alpha (will tell ppl how to turn this off if they desire) to get screen resolutions and devices connecting to it. Might see if i can pass in extra info like number of channels + groups as well (just planning on using standard google statistics code though, havent looked into this yet).
