Hi

I am trying to run the xmltvextras to get the TV show icons, but when it is run, it dosent seem to map the programmes

Found 1867 programmes containing extra data.
Mapping xmltv channels to NPVR channels...
Mapped 71 xmltv channels to NPVR channels.
Mapping xmltv programmes to NPVR programmes...
Mapped 0 xmltv programmes to NPVR programmes.
Adding programme extras from xmltv to TVListings database...
Updated 0 entries.

Any ideas what I may be doing wrong?

Living in the the wrong country ... I suspect that UK sources don't include the info the xmltvextras requires.

I use this and it works well ... http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?n=Utility.ImageGrabLite

Thanks for the reply.

I do know that the source (atlas metabroadcast) does include the info as it works with other per software I have been testing.

I have checked the xml file just to be sure and it has entries like this..

<programme start="20151204100000 +0000" stop="20151204110000 +0000" channel="north-west.bbc1.bbc.co.uk">
<title lang="en">Homes Under the Hammer</title>
<desc lang="en">Developers Lucy Alexander and Martin Roberts explore properties about to be auctioned - two bungalows in Devon, a terrace house in Stoke-on-Trent and a Glasgow flat - before speaking to the buyers about their plans, and later visiting to see how the new owners have fared.</desc>

<category lang="en">Property</category>

<episode-num system="xmltv_ns">17.46/80.</episode-num>
<episode-num system="brand.series.episode">hbh.cvc85y.c7b9wh</episode-num>
<video>
<present>yes</present>
</video>
<previously-shown />
<subtitles type="teletext" />
</programme>

so definitely includes the <icon> tags

Perhaps I will try reinstalling things and see if it helps :)

Hi,

can you attach your npvr.db3 database file, along with the xmltv source file you're using, then I can have a look why it can't match any programmes.

Hi

Thanks for taking a look.

I am still at the testing phase at the moment, so haven't organised my channels etc yet, but I don't think that would affect things.

Hi,

it works with your example files here:

Searching for outdated entries...
Found and removed 14472 entries from programme extras.
Reading C:\Downloads\guide\atlas.xml...
Found 5469 programmes containing extra data.
Mapping xmltv channels to NPVR channels...
Mapped 13 xmltv channels to NPVR channels.
Mapping xmltv programmes to NPVR programmes...
Mapped 702 xmltv programmes to NPVR programmes.
Adding programme extras from xmltv to TVListings database...

please ensure that the utility is executed right after npvr's epg update has completed. And please verify if it picks up the correct xmltv file (should be printed out to the command line when executed).

Hi,

Thank you for checking the example files,

I have checked that when clicking update egg, and it does show running postupdateepg.bat

I have tried uninstalling everything, trying out 3.5.7 with Tv listings and xmltvextras, and just 3 channels, but still the same result.

If I run xmltvextras from a command prompt, I still get similar results...

C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts>xmltvextras
Getting xmltv files from NPVR database...
Got 1 xmltv files from NPVR database.
Searching for outdated entries...
No outdated programme entries found in programme extras.
Reading c:\users\emach\downloads\atlas.xml...
Found 5314 programmes containing extra data.
Mapping xmltv channels to NPVR channels...
Mapped 3 xmltv channels to NPVR channels.
Mapping xmltv programmes to NPVR programmes...
Mapped 0 xmltv programmes to NPVR programmes.
Adding programme extras from xmltv to TVListings database...
Updated 0 entries.
Finished.

It still does not map any xml programmes to NPVR programmes :(

Is there anything else I could try?

Hi Alibert,

I have tried the new version and it is giving this error...

Error connecting to database: NPVR database not found

Thanks

Sorry 'bout that - apparently the application still contained a hard-coded path to your database in my downloaded files folder.

Hi I am also using the atlas xmltv, from reading this post my understanding is that the tv artwork that is listed in the xml is used by xmltvextra. Should the artwork show up in Kodi as well as npvr? (it doesn't show for me)

when I run xmltvextras from cmd line I get:

Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.10586]
(c) 2015 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

C:\Users\HTPC>cd\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts

C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts>xmltvextras.exe

Searching for outdated entries...
No outdated programme entries found in programme extras.
Reading c:\users\public\xmltv\xmltv.xml...
Found 30821 programmes containing extra data.

Mapped 100 xmltv channels to NPVR channels.

Mapped 29094 xmltv programmes to NPVR programmes.
Adding programme extras from xmltv to TVListings database...

Finished.

which looks all good to me, just wondering if I'm missing a step somewhere?

thanks

Hi Ashjg

I stand to be corrected, but....

In my experience the artwork does not show up in the Kodi guide :(

I think this is because it is the TVListings plug in which uses these xmltvextras images, rather than the standard NPVR guide.

I assume the Kodi plug in looks at the standard guide for information.

This is also the case I imagine for the Emby Live TV Plugin, as the images are not used there either.

Ahhh that would make sense, thanks Moneybear, I noticed when I checked the TVDB etc on one of the setting tabs I do get images that show up in Kodi, although I believe the images in the atlas xmltv are far more superior.... Back to the drawing board!

Back to the drawing board!

It may be quite an easy option for Sub to build into the Kodi add-on - for it to look for the xmltvextras image, I guess it depends on how it all links in with the standard guide
