In the settings tab in GBPVR config, I have options like
720*480
480*480
352*480
320*240

Can those be changed, and if so, how? I just wanted 352*240, since 320*240 plays letterboxed on the MVP, forcing me to use 352*480 (which is more than what I need for some shows)
It depends what card you're using as to which resolutions you can use. The cards typically support a small set of fixed resolutions, but the vary from card to card.
'twas in the post title Big Grin
Hauppauge PVR-500
The resolutions presented in the config are the only ones available (other than 640x480).
Mmmmh, that's weird... Hauppauge's website gives 352*240 as a valid capture resolution for the PVR-150... I thought the PVR500 had the same hardware as the 150?
Is it a driver limitation?
It can only produce 352*240 when the encoder output type is MPEG1.
Hello Sub, and everyone else,

I have a similiar situation. I use a PVR-150 and it only records at 720x480, and some other lower res i don't care for. I would like to capture at 640x480 so that when I convert the mpeg to .avi the picture won't be slightly stretched. I've tried to resize the picture after capture, but the quality is dramatically reduced.

I've also contacted Hauppauge and they said
"The Conexant Chip firmware is set to only capture in 720 x 480, 480 x 480,
and 352 x 480. Unfortunately that can't be modify."

Do you know how to get the card to capture at 640x480 or know of a firmware/registry tweak or hack to do this?
