I admit I have a personal interest in this, but I really believe there is a great opportunity to expand gbpvr's potential by creating an api which would allow gbpvr to control slave backends, especially linux backends (read cards doing qam dumping to mpeg streams), which would then right the stream and record data back to the gbpvr frontend. Thoughts?

Haven't looked at it myself, but I understand the DBox plugin turns a Linux box into a capture source. No clue if Dbox supports qam.
