What is a good remote to use with GB-PVR? It must be either USB or serial attached as I don't have any card slots available. I have a Firefly Mini but I can't get it to work with GB-PVR.

Have you tried HIP with your remote?
It's an external app - but will take care of all of your commands with the firefly.
I think the only remotes supported are MCE & Hauppage.
I use an ATI remote Wonder, using a program called UICE to run the commands, give me extra OSD etc. The RW is and RF remote, so will work through walls etc.
