Here,

Anyone thought of using a Wiimote for GBPVR, like this guy.

Maybe it currently relies on too many keyboard shortcuts. Dunno.

Thanks
Hi, I recently discovered GBPVR and have been toying around with it. I just bought a USB Bluetooth adapter and will be trying to use a Wiimote for onscreen control tonight. I'll probably post an update (or series of dumb questions) tomorrow.
thats cool
only thing is you would bump it or move the tv and it would be out of calibration

this one would work better for gbpvr if you could modify it
same guy but you use the remote with reflective infra red light source tape and your fingers

Hmm, yes I suppose it really should be used in the original way as implemented on the Wii (i.e. "point and click").

Thing is, would there be enough buttons on it for GB-PVR specific commands? Is it realistic to control GB-PVR only using a mouse and arrow keys?

I might ask a friend can I borrow a Wiimote to give it a try.
i think its a great idea
if you could get the software to work with gbpvr (as in take comands from it)
wouldnt it be a cool thing to show your mates
sitting back and just wave your finger at the screen and the menus scroll etc
im tempted to go buy the remote just to have a play
watch the video there would be no button pushing it would be like the guy in the video said minority report
where you wave your arms around and the tv does what you want
I think the more realistic option is to use the Wiimote in exactly the same way as the Wii console uses it (at least initially). I don't want to wear infra-red tape to watch TV Big Grin.

There is already software out there lets you map the Wiimote buttons. You need a bluetooth adaptor for the PC. I think I'll give this a go over Christmas.

Windows Wiimote drivers: http://wrong url - read below
Um, no Wiimote drivers when I follow that link. It's kind of humorous the post that it does take you to though.
btw why use a wiimote for something a mce remote is going to be better and half the price

so there is no point if you dont want reflective tape stuck to your finger Smile
Haha, Big Grin

Sorry wtg, seems to be a lot of cross talk on the Internet! Big Grin

Anyway, the reason I want to try this out is that the Hauppauge IR receiver I've got is really useless (misses keystrokes, picks up my DVD remote as random ALT+TAB keystrokes, other annoyances) and more importantly the Wiimote option looks cool. Plus if I buy a Wiimote I can use it for that cool whiteboard thing.
