I'm copying this post from a PM on the NMT forums. The poster will likely add to this tomorrow with logs, but I'm posting it to see if anyone has suggestions. I don't know the difference between 720p and 1280x720 pixel mapped but I do tell PCH that I want 720p output.

"I've been using mvpmcx2 for a while now, and it works great. I have a 720p compatible plasma and therefor I gladly applied the new 720 patch that you've created and now mvpmcx2 doesn't start. I have updated mvpmcx2 to the latest version. The plasma can handle 720p 60 Hz but not 1280x720 pixel mapped, could this be the problem?

Any help would be appriciated. "

If the PCH can do 1080p, it should do 720p.

720p is 1280x720 at either 24, 25, 30, 50 and 60 Hz.

Some plasmas native resolution at 1366x768, but they accept a 720p signal.

That is the extent of my HD knowledege though, sorry I am not much help.

The output from the PCH isn't going to be the issue, I can only send 50/60 or 1080p24, it is figuring out the capabilities of the screen. Right now I'm thinking that 720p means that it can do 1280x720 but I've seen HD TVs that are marked 1024x768 so I don't know what this means from my client's perspective.

Did he say how he was connected to the TV? component and HDMI should accept 1280x720 since that's what is used by the 720p standard, the same as you'd get from a blu-ray player putting out 720p. If he is using DVI or VGA, then these inputs are sometimes designed to only take PC like resolutions.

He used -m 720

Originally this meant

HDMI/DVI , HDTV@60 , SD signal and 720x480 res

and now it is

HDMI/DVI , HDTV@60 , 720p signal and 1280x720 res

I don't support VGA yet and won't unless I get an istarHD

The good is news is this might not be 720p related at all. This is what I would expect to see if a firewall was blocking PVRX2.exe so that is the first thing I'd check, it needs to be open for TCP and UPD. You said it was working before but Windows does strange things.

When you applied the patch you would have had to turn off the GBPVRRecording service. Perhaps you didn't turn it back on?

You can find your logs in \Program Files\devnz\GBPVR\logs You should go into config.exe and turn up the logging level to Debug this will turn the recording service back on too.

Hi there.

Windows firewall deactivated, kerio firewall deactivated, debugging level on logging since last night, still no go, only recording services "logs", not pvr.

Could you zip up the logs and post them anyway. It saves asking questions. The next quesion is are you Autostarting an MVP Server in config.exe

The other possibility is there is an error in config.xml you might want to include that too.
