New Version.

I've updated it to support both Radio Times and Digiguide Channel names.

both EPGs use slightly different names for the channels. so the XML lists on my server have been updated to reflect which EPG source.

http://www.systemshark.com/SCSSetup 1.0.2.zip

I've updated the commandline / slient mode to support the choice of the epg source.

Command line Options :
/H - Help
/S <EPGSource> <Capture Source name> <update Channel Nos In Channel Tab>
<nothing> - Stand GUI Version

Example :-

To updates channels on "sky" capture source and updates the channels in channel tab using the epg data from the Radio Times.

skyChannelSync.exe /s radiotimes sky yes

to updates channels on '350' capture source and does not updates the channels in channel tab using the epg channel data from Digiduide

SkyChannelSync.exe /s digiguide 350 no
Hi Richard, I've just given it a run and it works except for recent changes where some of the channels have moved down from the 250's to the 240's recently.

Martin

edit: and some just above 315 have shuffled a bit.

I also noted it had put Bravo 2 at 121, the same as virgin? instead of 123.....

yes thought I'd got them right.... I'll have another look

I'll double check as I too think Bravo 2 is at 123.

Thanks for the feedback...
Cheers Richard, I used RadioTimes listing.

I've just been having a look at the New(ish?) sky TV guide at http://tv.sky.com/tvlistings there is a lump of software that grabs the listings complete, but tucked away is more, real, data - http://www.sky.com/portletepg/TVListingsProxy/init.json

Interesting links.... which sort of help... I've just created a tool to read the HTML from http://www.sky.com/portletepg/TVListingsProxy/init.json into a XML channel list which my tool is expecting....

But none of the channel names match... I'm going to have to 'merge' the lists together..... I'm on the case.....
Found a PHP tool to read that Sky link and deeper to generate a full Sky EPG.

Inside is a short description of another link he found and data layout.

I've re-created the XML file for Radiotimes. but I'll not be able to load it until wednesday evening. I'm only on a 3G card for internet access and Vodafone only allow HTML access to my server....

interesting....

I'm tempted to try loading the EPG data into the GBPVR and see what it does.... Tried loading the data from Digiguide using the SAGE TV Extractor, DG2XML and it created a 'valid' xml file but GBPVR hated it....

Whats interesting in all this. Sky, Radio Times and Digiguide all use different channel names.... Therefore my tool needs to have all the names for each channel id....

I used Birtles xmltvgui to load both the RT and external xml and it loaded into gbpvr quite well - with lots of new channel names. Smile

I'm not sure I want to switch over though as sky may close the loophole if there server is getting hammered. I'd also like to pick and choose the channels downloaded. I see it is possible to to select "favourites" with the Sky TV Guide if you log in, so there may be a way round that sometime...

It's all interesting stuff........

I may be missing the point here as haven't tried the sync tool yet but both RT names with Birtles Grabber and Digiguide Names can be changed to anything you want

Cheers
