I just got an AVerMedia A577 Digital/Analog TV/FM Hybrid Tuner (Expresscard) for my Dell 7120 Laptop. The card tested well with PowerCinema, Meedio, SageTv, J.River amongst others using limited trial versions. I would prefer to use GBPVR as the interface, plugin options and excellent reviews and support are what I am seeking. I have included the FilterCheck Log, and perhaps there is a solution, so that the A577 can be detected by GBPVR.

You wont be able to use the analog side of this device in GB-PVR, but the digital should be usable by adding this to your bda.ini file:

[AVerMedia A577 Hybrid]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=AVerMedia 23885 BDA Tuner/Demod
FILTER_CAPTURE=AVerMedia 23885 AVStream TS Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
Thanks SUB, the software now sees an AVerMedia A577. I'm puzzled though, as there are no channels scanned or registered in the *.scan file in the BDA directory. GBPVR automatically scans for the channels, or should I perform this manually.

I checked the *.ini files for the local channel frequencies, and these are correct.

Attached are several JPEG files displaying the settings at this point of the installation.

System Windows XP Pro, SP3, Core2Duo 2GB Ram, No other applications installed. I'm using a reliable & tested image of Windows XP OS. Cheers SUB.

Did you click the 'map digital channels to epg channels' to initiate the scan?
Yes, GBPVR scanned the 5 channels for the local area, which is correct, but no channels were assigned. The scan reported no signal and the AVerMedia A577 did not fire up (the ExpressCard light did not come on). I checked the signal and all was good. The then used the AVerMedia Tuner software to confirm the ExpressCard was in good health, and it was. All channels working correctly (SD/HD/EPG/Stereo/AC3). I am truley puzzled by this.
In Graph Edit, the AVerMedia A577 is reported to having two pins on the BDA Receiver Components : Pin 00 : Pin 01.

This card has an analogue TV Tuner, digital TV Tuner & FM Radio, plus composite and S-Video inputs. Only one source can be used at a time. For this installation, I am only interested in the DVB-T digital features, though, FM radio would be great, but I don't think this will ever happen.
Do the scan, then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.
Appreciate your time and help on this. I'm sure there is something I've missed. The good part is, it has forced me to better understand the software, which in the long run will be benficial.

Attached are the log files you have requested. Again thanks.
Cheers.
Rosco.
I'm not really sure. There is no sign of any errors in the logs - it just looks like the device never managed to lock onto a signal.

Maybe try setting it 'all countries/all regions'. Also try enabling the setting to 'explicitly scan DVB-T offsets', since these are used Australia and some devices require them.
Still no joy. As you can see, GBPVR reports no signal strength, and therefore no quality of service.

I'm suprised the MuxChecker reports no Multiplexer Filter, yet the MVP decoder is recogized by the Windows Xp OS. Hmm...

Any thoughts on why there are two pins for each of the AverMedia Demod/Filter settings in Graph Edit? Could one be for the analogue tuner and the other for the digital tuner?

Perhaps I'll install the Xp Image and start again.

Thanks SUB.
Cheers
Rosco
