NPVR cannot open my TS files. Please may I have option for choosing the filter to open TS files? I want to try the media portal one. Since it is all based on direct show framework, I'm hoping it will just work.

EDIT: See post #8 for problematic sample
Likely not much has changed from your previous post on this topic http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...not-play-( NPVR has specific requirement for the ts files it plays and it does a great job playing files it creates. If you post another 20MB sample on a free download site (sub's utility is here http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post403907) I will likely be able to tell you why it won't play.

Was the .ts file recorded by NPVR, or is it still one of those oddball .ts files you had in the past, which has PMT entries for all sorts of other channels?
It's the oddball TS files still.

I think it is important for NPVR to be able to handle various files and formats with 3rd party codecs if needed.

You could put a disclaimer that 3rd party TS filters are not supported. I really just want to see if it works with a different one.
Dave_M if you post the 20-50MB sample, I might be able to provide a procedure allowing you to view these files in NPVR.

Slightly embarrassing... I made a sample to upload but I tried playing it in NPVR and it now works. BTW, I've been messing around with filter merits and installing and uninstalling crap in case that has made a difference.

I do have a TS file that NPVR doesn't play. Even though it plays fine in other things like MPC, there can be the odd broken recording so it's no big deal it doesn't work in NPVR.

Here is the sample but if it works for you too there might be no problem...

It opens just sits there with zero hrs, mins, sec on the clock.

The Broken Sample does not play here, just says 00-00 on the timeline.
