When scheduling a recurring recording, the only options I see are to vary based on daily timeslot, weekly timeslot, M-F timeslot, Weekend timeslot on a single channel or across all channels. Is there a way to set it to only tape new episodes, so it won't tape repeats that may run in the same timeslot in certain weeks?

Does SchedulesDirect give "new" and "repeat" information for npvr to key off of?

Try the "avoid duplicate recordings" option in the Recording section of the settings dialog.

If you are using mc2xml for your guide data then you can get this behavior by using the option in mc2xml to append '*' to new episodes but there is currently nothing built into NPVR for this. See http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?51209

I think it has been said that NPVR doesn't have a series manager. Assuming that is true, your problem should be solved when sub gets the time to add this.
