I just rebuilt a client PC and can't get it to play Live TV for some reason. After several seconds NPVR displays this error message: "Failed to connect to remote server". I can play recordings just fine and Live TV worked on the same PC before I replaced the hard drive and reinstalled everything so I'm not sure what I messed up. I have attached the client log.
Its hard to tell from that log, but I think it's failing to connect to the server. Probably a case of firewall on either the client or server getting in the way of communication.

(I'm about to get on a plane, so there wont be any quick reply to follow up questions)
I tried disabling the firewall on the client and it still doesn't work. The server has not changed so I'm not sure what's going on.
Some more data for this. I have a different client where Live TV worked earlier today but now I'm getting the same error message with no changes to the client or server - it just stopped working. Also, there are a bunch of smaller Live TV .ts files on the server so it looks like it is able to connect enough to at least start the recordings.

This is from the nrecord.log on the server:

Code:

2012-06-08 22:52:30.929    [DEBUG][7]    StopStream
You'd probably need to post the NDigitalHost.log files too, but it seems that NDigitalHost is not allowed through the firewall. Don't be fooled by the firewall beeing disabled, I'v seen cases where it is still prevents programs communicating.

Regarding the Firewall, I am using Comodo Internet Security and it doesn't show any "events" that it has blocked. I also have added NPVR as a trusted application. I only see how to disable the firewall, I don't see how to shut down the whole Comodo program to try that.

But is it possible to allow Nrecord and NDigitalHost through in Comodo?

I don't think this is necessary on the client (I'm not using Comodo on the server and it worked consistently before so the server is setup ok)?

Na y'r right about that. But always when I had trouble connecting a client it has had to do with the firewall/ports.
Well, I uninstalled Comodo and made sure the Windows Firewall is disabled and I still can't get it to work so it doesn't seem firewall related. Also, on my other client it still works intermittently? We hardly ever watch Live TV so it is possible I haven't tried this since 2.4.3 was released and it may have been broken for me since then...
