I'm a newbie. Finally got my Ceton InfinTV PCIe configured. When I try to play any channel on LiveTV I get several seconds of audio, but no video. The .ts file grows as long as I am "playing" the channel. MediaInfo thinks the .ts file is a MPEG-TS with apparently valid MPEG Video in it. VLC and XBMC will NOT play the .ts file, however. I have stared at some logs with debugging enabled but nothing jumps out at me as wrong. Suggestions?

Windows 7-64 bit. Ceton InfiniTV PCIe.
I'd start be figuring out what this message in the SageDCT log means.

StartRecording 6980 - no matching channel found for 843

I saw another SageDCT user post with what looks like a related error here http://www.silicondust.com/forum/viewtop...4574b22b55 Reading on the Sage forums, it looks like the problem disappeared after rebooting etc.

If you put a 20 MB sample on Dropbox or something similar I can see if there is video in the file, I don't think there is.

Rebooting did not help.
Before reporting this problem I had set the channel EPG source using Schedules Direct.
Using the Ceton InfiniTV http service (http://192.168.200.1/Services/1/Tuner.html) I verified the channel and frequency that was set on the actual card matched what I expected. I recognized the few seconds of audio as being correct. I also verified that when I used MediaCenter that I got the same channel and frequency, etc. (using the InfiniTV http service, above). Summary: I think the correct channel/frequency is set by NextPV/SageDCT.

The SageDCT that I was using was apparently down-level (I must have used some old link), but now I have 2.6.0.0 and the results are the same.

I no longer have the "no matching channel" message. I don't know why. Attached are new logs.
I am not seeing your logs. Also don't try and add a .ts file, the forums won't allow it, instead link them through an external file sharing site link Dropbox

Martin
Attached are the .logs again. I uploaded the .ts file to: http://feuerbacher.us/data/file.ts
No problem with that file here using ffdshow audio and video

Martin
Much head scratching. VLC doesn't show it on my machine. XBMC did not display it either. I did have an old ffdshow show from who knows what source on my machine, but that has never been an issue before. I'll try to display on another machine.
I can't play it with xbmc either but mpc is a better player and it works fine too. To correct it for xbmc I ran http://www.videohelp.com/download/Ts4Np_082.zip on it and it is playable. Did you try to enable the vlc demux in SageDCT? I don't know how this works since I can't use cablecard here in Canada but babgvant did add this feature to clean these files for programs which don't have the best demuxing.

Martin
You are a genius! Now I can play it after running through the Ts4Np tool, converting the 1088i -> 1080i. I'll see if I can find the vlc demux in SageDCT that you are talking about and see if it creates pretty files in the first place.
I did not enable "Use VLC for RTP capture" since it requires the PBDA stuff, which seems to be frowned upon by babgvant. So far the only VLC demux stuff seems to be related to SageTV itself, which I am not using (7.023/MpegDMux.ax & DShowPlayer.dll?) Still looking. Should I take it up with babgvant & SageDCT?
