I much prefer movies to TV shows but it takes time to scan the TV guide for ones I might like. Is there an easy way to show all the movies on all channels, using a genre filter perhaps?
No, there is nothing built in that'll list just the movies.
The Searchlite plugin will do a filter on movies. The simplest is the star search one period for each * and with my genre search tool you can filter be genre if you guide data has it.

I did make a video of whurlston's upcoming YouTube showing the Searchlite movie genre function in operation here starting at 1:30 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBcEl1295...e=youtu.be Although that is xbmc running the upcoming web client, it works/looks the same way in NextPVR

xmltv and the radio times grabber had the ability to stuff "film:" into the title. With the change of supplier this data went missing, but there was a utility from Brian that got it back in.
Using the gbpvr/npvr search function they all appear under "F" which can be a bit annoying if searching for an F that isn't a film, but gets all the films in one place.

I use this for the same reasons as you, generally at a weekend to setup to record what I think might be watchable in the coming week.

edit: I think we lost the star ratings at the same time and they never came back ;(
I think my genre utility would add the stars back too.

I'll have a play with it when I get a minute, but I think the rating data was removed from the listings at the same time. Four stars was one of my most used searches.
I confirmed that a year and a half ago http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post428964 I added the stars ratings back and gEd confirmed that it was working.

Sorry Martin, I'll move it up my todo list to the etop
Blame it on my old age and disappearing brain cells. ;(
