NTRAY.exe detected by AVG 2015 as vurus??
Anyone else experiencing this. I have 3.3.8 version running downloaded from official site.
Pops up detection at start of Windows 7 x64.
It'll just be some false positive. If you're worried, try uploading NTray.exe to the online virus checker at https://www.virustotal.com (a Google company), and it'll scan it with 40 or so virus scanners (like TrendMicro, McAfee, Symantec, ESET-NOD32 etc)
I remember NTray.exe being flagged when I was using AVG. I probably should've taken steps to have it whitelisted (as I once did for the mc2xml grabber). As I recall it was a behavioral detection by AVG's Identity Protection component, not signature-based like with Resident Shield. You can create an exception directly from the detection pop-up by choosing the option in smaller print below "Protect Me" (I can't recall the exact wording). If you already clicked "Protect Me" then you will need to restore NTray from the Virus Vault. I also like sub's virustotal suggestion. If you want to report this to AVG, here's a link to the usual instructions: http://community.avg.com/viruses#!/feedt...00000007f7 [Edit] At virustotal my NTray.exe isn't even flagged by AVG. I presume virustotal doesn't use the behavioral detection (which isn't AVG's best component).
I got that same error a couple of days ago myself, AVG flagged it as UNKNOWN. Scanned the entire drive then added it to the white list. AVG can be a pain some times.
