Hello, I recently made the plunge to Windows 10. I have everything installed, channels setup and guide data working, but when I try to watch live TV, I get no picture on cable channels. Broadcast channels like NBC, ABC work great, but channels like TBS, HGTV will not display. I tried both SAF (version 5.02 since the new versions no longer have FFDShow)and Sharks codec packs, but still nothing. In the attached logs, I first tuned CBS (402) which worked perfectly, then changed to TBSHD (413) and no picture. The weird thing is that sometimes it displays and most times it doesn't. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

The first thing I'd do is try bringing up the Ceton device webpage while watching these channels, to see if the channel is copy-freely (ie can watch), or if it's copy-once/copy-never (ie copy protected, cant watch or record).

Thank you for the quick reply! I looked at the Ceton device webpage and when I watch CBS it says the channel says 402 "Copy Protection: None" and when I change to TBS, the channel on the webpage changes to 413 and it still says "Copy Protection: None". I remember when I was using WMC in Win7, the cop protection did say "Copy Freely", so "None" is new to me.
That should be fine then.

If you do a recording on that channel, can you play it back? If not, you might need to supply a short sample recording, so I can try it here.
I recorded a 12 min clip, but the file size is over a 1GB. When I try to play the file in NPVR, it says the file has completed after 1 sec. If I play the file in VLC player, it will count each second of the 12 mins., but there's no audio or video; just the black VLC player screen. Is there another way I can get this file to you since I can't attach it here?

You can cut 100 Meg or so off the from using ... http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...y.CutChunk

You could upload the 100 Meg to ... https://www.wetransfer.com/ ... which has worked for me in the past.

Or somewhere like dropbox, one drive or google drive.
Thank you. I used cut chunk and uploaded a 150MB file. You can use the link to get to the file listing and download from there. http://www.thefamilypuls.com/NPVR

Thanks Again!
I was expecting to look at the file, and tell you it was fine but the audio/video streams were encrypted. That isn't the case though. The file is filled with garbage though. I'm not really sure how to explain the contents of this file though.

You could maybe try creating a c:\temp directory, and setting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\NPVR\DumpNetPush=1 (DWORD) in the registry, then try starting viewing 'TBSHD'. Don't change channels. After about 20 seconds, stop live tv. This should have created c:\temp\dump.ts containing all the data that came from the Ceton. Is it playable?

Do I need to make sure the LiveTV buffer is set to C:\Temp, or how will NPVR know where to dump the file?
