Does anyone here use Jellyfin or thinking of trying it?  It is a FOSS alternative to Emby and Plex forked from Emby code before the code went closed source and the PVR and other "premium" features were hidden behind a pay wall.  You can find out more at https://jellyfin.org/

The reason I ask is there is PVR support for NextPVR v4 and I would upgrade this support to v5 if there is any interest.

Martin
I'm not interested personally, but since Jellyfin is cross platform, support for v5 should be desired by someone before long.
Once I find someone who wants to test it I could make the API changes. Jellyfin and Emby are not in sync so I won't be able to include many of the changes I made for Emby but I can get it working.

Martin
As mentioned here https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-plu...r/issues/7 I would very much like to do the tests with Jellyfin.

I have the latest JF stable and the current nightly running.
In NextPVR I'm using a USB DVB-S2 tuner.

Do you need anything else from my side?
Great that will give me some motivation. My prime focus is enhancing the Kodi addon for Matrix but there is a lot of dead time as some things require Kodi work and other things demand sub's attention.

You can do a couple of things most importantly make sure NextPVR v5 is installed and working well. You can do this in parallel with v4 too since it runs on a different port.

Another thing that would help the community would be if you posted more detail on jellyfin and its benefits. You could explain features and especially why you would even want live TV in jellyfin and NextPVR. One thing I'd like to know is if jellyfin supports NextPVR live tv on Roku devices and I am sure there are other questions.

Martin
So, I have v5 set up and can use it via Kodi on a Fire TV Stick and an OSMC Box.
I haven't seen any issues yet, so I think is working well.

The main reason I’d like to see it in Jellyfin is to access all my media in one place when I'm not at home. (Mainly via browser)
At home I use Kodi in most places, but as the Jellyfin Android TV app is currently getting a major overhaul, I may have a look into it for the Fire TV Stick.

Jellyfin, for those of you who don’t know it, is a fork of the initially open source media server “Emby” and an alternative to Plex.
It can manage and display your Movies, TV Shows, Music, Music Videos, Pictures, Home videos and Books via a browser and several other clients.

Access to a demo Server and further details are available on their homepage.

As I have no Roku, I dont know if Live TV is currently supported...
@Nickbert7 I have live TV recordings and scheduling working pretty well except for icons and the support and document for jellyfin is weak.  Here is what I have now and I have tried both landscape and portrait art with not much success. Some of the boxes even look square.

How do they look in v4?

Martin
It looks the same with v4.
Poster image in a thumb shape...

There is already an open issue: https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-web/issues/1045
I think the problem is somewhere here: https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-web...#L519-L555
Ok hopefully that will get fixed fairly soon. It is basically ready for your testing now once sub releases the next version.

Do you have much event art when you look in the NextPVR web browser and click on shows?

Martin
Sounds good Smile

Within the NextPVR (v4 and v5) webinterface I cannot find "shows"
Or do you mean it in Jellyfin?
