Hi

Thank you for all the hard work you have put into making this great program multiple platform!

I recently installed npvr 5 on a fresh install of ubuntu server 18.04.  Everything works beautifully except for channel 10.1-10.5.  Linux recognizes the channels via the tuners and NPVR 5 recognizes the channels in the setup and guides. My problem is that when I try to play back the channel it does not work and a transcoder failure (all other channels work).  The logs appear to indicate that it is waiting for data but it is not delivered.  Is there a way to change the radio frequency or channel or the way it communicates with the tuner?

If there are other logs, please let me know where they reside so I can retrieve them and post.

thanks in advance!

Is the channel recording okay ... but playback is failing because transcoding goes haywire?

What happens if you record a show on one of the failing channels?  Do you get a recording .ts file with data in it?  Does the recording play in, for example, VLC?

Play back via the web browser or kodi client is not working.  I attempted to record a show from 10.2, It states that it failed with no errors but no data was received.

To your VLC question, I did try Linux Mint xcfe to see if maybe ubuntu server was the issue (lack of codecs or something silly like that).  The same scenario happened under that OS.  When I had Linux mint installed I was able to watch channels 10.1-10.5 perfectly with VLC.

A thought I had is that channel 10 comes is on two different channels per schedules direct and that npvr is trying to lock the wrong RF based on the schedules direct guide.  I logged into my schedules direct account and updated the channels that were duplicates and rescanned my tuners.  I scanned the tuners with and without using the schedules direct information but it did not change anything.

I believe on version 4, that it is possible change the radio frequencies of the channels.   In version 5 it appears that this has gone away or is hidden in an config file.  Is there a file somewhere in the system that stores the channel to radio frequency that NPVR uses?  My assumption is that NPVR tells the tuner to tune to this frequency based on the channel selected by the users input.

For the heck of it I tried recording another a show from 5.4, recorded perfectly and plays back perfectly.

When it is tuning do you see anything on the HDHR web I guess this is a legacy device and it is using rtp but no data is arriving

2021-01-08 02:03:02.869 [DEBUG][41] Have received 0 bytes from rtp source

The server is operating on a dell wyse 5020 thin client. I suppose this could be the issue however it has UEFI and legacy... The hdhomerun tuner is an hdhr3-us, the other is an hdhr5, I have only tried on the hdhr-3 as my current setup has the 5 setup.  I am looking to transfer the duty from a budget gaming pc to some that is a bit more energy conservative...

I will login and see what is going on via the hdhr web.

EDIT - I am not sure I understand what you are reffering to as far as HDHR web. I have a my.hdhomerun.com account and I can see the two tuners, the hdhr3 I can not see any sort of channels, however the HDHR5 i can. I am unable to see if it is in use either.

I can see on the npvr status tab that is calling for it... would a photo shot of that help?
By I see legacy you are using rtp not http. On the status page you should see NextPVR connecting and signal strength etc.

Martin
I have no idea how that one radio frequency switched from http to rtp, how do i change it back?

Ok on the status page I see stream information but not signal strentgh, etc...
If it is not a legacy device you should see three choices in the US and Canada ATSC, QAM and HDHR. HDHR mode uses http.

The device you are using in NextPVR is 192.168.50.27 which is identified as a legacy device so it won't have http transport. I can't remember if there is tuner status on legacy device but you can check http:/192.168.50.27

Ok, I want to apologize and say thanks to all, I figured out my issue. I did not install all of the linux packages that siliciondust suggest. Once I installed and restarted the server, channel 10 now works, so everything works. Now to add a second drive for storage and I should be golden? (lol!!)
Your right sorry it is my other digital tuner showing all the different modes. That devices doesn't support http do you get different results on your newer tuner?
