Well, first off yeehah on 2 counts, (i) my long non-working resume is now working and (ii) NMT is now supported (and I just GBPVR via the PCH A-100 via HDMI this a.m., need to tweak the position though. (thanks to Martin!)
Not so yeehah is that the once good-looking smooth fonts on the MVP seem to have been replaced by larger, blockier-looking ugliness. Has something changed here .
I typically use GB-PVR v1.1.5 to record live TV. The recordings are consistently good.
Now I'm trying to set up manual recordings where I put the machine into hibernation via GB-PVR. The machine consistently wakes up at the right time and records what I've asked, but the end result is pixelated and full of digital "burps."
I've compared the GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native logs of the two types of recordings and I can't see any obvious differences.
Yeah I know, I'm posting a lot today. I'm trying to catch up in post count.
Anyway, the new main menu panels reintroduced in the newest version seems pretty straightforward; I got one going with a minimum of fuss.
I'd like to clarify a few points though, so ensure that I'm understanding them.
The Main Menu skin.xml file must be edited to include the <Panel> tag. That is, something lower in the plugin skin will not be sufficient.
There is now a Panels skin folder, but it doesn't seem to be a requirement - so far I've been using xml files from the main plugin skin folder and it's been happy.
A plugin CAN expose multiple panels.
Multiple panels are rendered at the same time. There is no automatic transition from panel A to B by the PVRX2 framework; plugins will have to share the main menu real estate. If two choose the same location, one will overwrite the other.
So an individual plugin will be able to change the content of its panel, but there is, as yet, no sharing of a panel like we had with the old interface, where, for example, the same panel would transition from "Now Recording", "Next Recording", "Now Transcoding", "Current Temperature".
(Or maybe I just didn't really understand what GBPVR -- in contrast to PVRX2 -- did.)
Hi, I've a Hauppauge HVR-3000 card and I've installed GB-PVR 1.1.5 everything accordingly and know the installation process is correct. Recording on DVB-T is fine, but on DVB-S some channels cannot be recorded even when view on LIVE-TV viewed ok? For example I've scanned DVB-S channels on Eurobird 1, certain channels ie, Movies4Men or SimplyTV cannot be recorded, but able to view it ok??!! Channels like TV_SHOP can be recorded. On my PC I've also installed WinTV 4 from Hauppauge and everything can be recorded? Is there something missing for DVB-S within GB-PVR pls? or is there something I missed? Any help would be appreciated.
I installed 1.2.9 on my server and two clients without issues and it all seemed to work until I tried a recording. It records OK but it doesn't change the channel on the STB using the blaster. It doesn't even try (blaster doesn't blink). Funny thing is it works just fine when I select something in the guide and click Watch...it changes just fine then. I'm using a gen-you-wine MS MCE blaster driven via HIP. Capture card is a 150MCE over s-video. Config looks correct. No errors in the log that I can see. It was working fine in the previous release. Anyone else seeing this?
I love the new Play & Shuffle directory feature. One thing I noticed though... in the Music Library when the track changes the currently playing track info in the upper right of the screen isn't updated until I press a remote key.
It does update without a key press on the main menu, just not on the Music Library screen.
The MVPTrayIcon isn't working for me with the latest release. There doesn't appear to be an error in the log... just no icon in the system tray any longer.
Anyone ideas?

Just tried to update my GB-PVR Installation to 1.2.9 and got after installing an error message (because the config window was freezed).
After this i tried a repair installation which ended even with an errormessage.
Ok, i ignored this and tried to start the new UI of GB-PVR but i got only .NET 2.0 Error Messages.
Are here some other Vista 32 User which have this problems too? After macking a backup of the logs i will try a clean install again.
It seems... unkind... to post a wishlist item less than 24 hours after a release. But in my defence, it was the release that prompted the wish.
1.2.9 introduced the ability to step through multiple audio streams in avi (via Morgan Stream Splitter) and mkv/ogm files.
My Wish: The same thing, but with subtitle streams.
I appreciate that this is getting a bit esoteric. It's my hope that the code to change subtitles will just be an extension / modification of the code to change audio streams and that the investment in time wouldn't be more than it is worth. That's my hope anyway!
In any event, thanks for all the effort that is put into gbpvr.
I am new to the application and the world of PC PVRs and I need some help.
I have an ATI TV Wonder 600 and can not get it to work with gppvr. It works with the supplied ATI Catalyst application, but that is a resource hog and would rather use this application.
Can anyone shed some light on what I need to do to get it working?
