Reven, the next time you decide to update or revise the My Videos plugin, I wondered if you could add a little feature.
A while back I asked you how My Videos picked up its database info from recorded TV. As I understand it, when you activate My Videos after a recording has been made the database info is copied from the gbpvr.mdb to the mydatabase.mdb.
I was wondering if you could introduce a postprocessing.bat command that would cause the info to be coppied from one data base to the other without having to activate the actual plugin.
My reason for this request is due to gbpvr.mdb database couruption or loss. I have finally been able to get my wife to accept the PVR in the living room and My Videos is her goto plugin for any video playback. If the gbpvr.mdb data base gets compromised (because I sometimes run another GBPVR install as a client). Her show appears in MyVideos, but not the description.
This little thing would help me with the WAF. Belive it or not she actually was able to find a show, watch it and skip commericals without my intervention. SUCCESS!!
FYI, the issue regarding unchecking the channels in Capture Setup reappearing as checked still exists as well as the error with having the install program re-running after install when clicking on either GB-PVR or Config.
So my system has developed a problem. Sometime in the past few weeks since I setup my system the controls in TV have stopped working. I use the ATI Remote wonder, I have it setup so that the computer simply thinks itâs a keyboard. I admit that my GB-PVR version is a little old, I believe its 93.10. For whatever reason the Number keys no longer work, but the keys Chan up and Chan down keys still work. Another key that stopped working is the Aspect ratio key while playing video library files.
One thing thatâs interesting, if I am watching recorded shows I can still use the number keys to specify the number of minutes and then hit the FF key to skip ahead.
One thing that troubles me is that the controls do not work when I hook up a keyboard and try that. I will admit that I have NOT tried disconnecting the remote and then just trying the keyboard. So I guess itâs possible that the remote is causing problems, but I really donât think thatâs the case.
First of all, thanks to sub for making a great product, setup was mostly painfree and easy and I've gotten most of the problems taken care of through the forums. Just 2 small issues to resolve here:
1) I know all about the problems with the Hauppauge 35 button remote and Phillips TVs (who would have guessed), so I'm probably going to buy the 45 button remote, but what I want to know is does the addition of seperate menu navigation buttons solve that problem? Can I navigate the GBPVR menus without fear of the channel changing on the tv accidentally?
2) Does anyone out there have Pc-Cillin Internet Security 2005? I'm trying go set it up so I can use my MVP thru the firewall, but I can't seem to get it figured out. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I'm still eyeballing a Fusion card, esp. the HDTV5 Lite. Will it work OK with GB-PVR? Are all the Fusion cards supported (Gold, Lite, etc)? I would probably have a Fusion card and one or two PVR-150 's in the system. The Fusion would tune the OTA digital channels and the 150's would handle the cable. Would that work OK?
Some people have downloaded comskip version 0.76 from my server.
Please note that it is NOT for general use. It contains a ini file optimized for very specific broadcasting conditions.
You can use the 0.74 ini file for the 0.76 release however.
Within a couple of days I will release version 0.77 after beta testing by a couple of nice people helping me to test also in the USA.
This version will add a debug window showing the detailed outcome and progress of the analysis helping you to tune in an easier way.
I have just started trying out the xguide plugin and while I really like the general concept of it. I have a difficulty changing guide views using the mvp remote.
My main use of gbpvr is as a music jukebox and a method of timeshifting TV shows by recording them [ I rarely watch live Tv], I only use an mvp for all this.
If I am not actually watching a recording then the music player is usually running in jukebox mode.
But I have found that if I use xguide to view what is on the Tv to see if I want something recorded, and use the stop button on the mvp remote to change the guide view then of course the music playing in the background stops.
Is there any way that plugins can be "insulated" from each other so that a key stroke / button press only causes changes to the plugin which is actually visible on the screen.
I'm sure this sort thing must happen with various other plugins
