Hi Paul, I found and fixed the problem, on startup MB4 is designed to import from an existing ML3 setup and a registry check was not being handled properly, the file on the wiki has been updated.

And yes ,MB4 needs .NET 2.0 but so does NPVR. I am hoping sub jumps to 3.5 on day.

Yep, that did it. It's scanning now. Hopefully, I'm good for now. Thanks for the uber quick help.

Ummm err.. maybe with a fast computer & network, I have just built a new database to include all my tracks this time & I have considerably less tracks than that & it took just under an hour to complete..... not complaining just pointing out it can take longer than 15 minutes

Very good point Jaggy. I figured I was being conservative since my large sample file scan from a NAS is under 7 minutes but the scan is very i/o intensive and variations will be great. As the end of the scan, the average scan time ir recorded so users can get a good idea what their times will be.

Scanning from a Sata I drive on an eight year old 2.66GHz Pentium 4 domain server across a 100Mb network I get
MusicBox4: Library Scan Completed; Songs Loaded= 19580; Duration per song= 93 ms; Total Duration=1832996 ms
or about 30 mins... So it will vary...

I got my music scanned...looks like all is there....when I switch to album view I only see 110.....when I do a select count (distinct album) from musicLibrary I get like 371......not sure why they are all not showing up????

Opened Music Box tonite and there was nothing there. Tried to run a scan and got nada. Then I tried the 'Nuke Library' and get an error.
The same problem on system #2. Checking the database, I see it and the Music Box directory on both have disappeared. I'm missing the directory entirely. It defaulted to the C drive but I had changed it to D which was working yesterday. I've not rebooted since then.
    Users\Public\NPVR\Plugins\MusicBox4\MusicLibrary.db3
I must have done something but don't know what though I've not touched system 2 at all.

I got it working but nothing I do will keep the database in the D directory so it's staying on C for now.

Album view is only for compilations, albums with more than one artist. I felt this would make searching for them easier. Comments on this would be appreciated.

Comment.....doesn't work for me.... If I look at artists I have tons to look at......if I switch to compilation then I am missing most of my music.....I think there needs to be an album view.
