NMTInstall2 does not install mvpmcx2 files

    Hi
I am trying to set up my PCH A110 with mcpmc but have encountered a strange problem.
I have been using NPVR for a while and had no problems.
When I use NMTInstall2 to set up mvpmc, I only seem to get the following files in the mvpmc share and no files are installed on the PCH.

    mvpmcx2
    mvpmcx2.7z
    NMTInstall.xml

I have seen reference to npvr.html and npvr.cgi but cannot find any of these on my system.
I am using NPVR 2.3.6 with patches R1 on Windows 7 Pro.
I have checked the share on my PC works correctly and can be seen from the PCH.
I have used the default C:\mpvmc directory.

    Can anyone help?

Those files are created by NMTInstall2 Did you follow the steps here? http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki....stallingmvpmc2 You need to tick the last box to get those files.

Nothing is actually installed on the NMT.

Thanks Martin. It was obvious when you pointed it out! I only ticked the top box (as suggested in the walkthrough if NPVR is already installed).

Now to sort out why I get a black scree,

    Thanks again for your help.

Typically that's a firewall if it 30 seconds going back to the NMT menu. Otherwise if you want some help post you NMT Syntax check output, and I will see if I see anything.

I've only just got back to this problem - you were right. Windows firewall is causing the problem. Turning it off allows mvpmc to load fine. Can you tell me which ports I need to open? 8866 is already opened so it must be another?

I also have a problem with screen resolution. The NMT display is clearly wrong - the NPVR displays are far too big for the screen but the playback/live TV is fine. I run my NMT at 1080i - do I need to pick a different resolution in the startmeup script?

I have pasted the output from the Sntax Checker below if that is any help. (Apologies for my server name!)

    Thanks again for your help.

In config.xml you need to update the setting for

    <MAC-0006DC440EDB>
    to use

    Code:
            <MVPWidth>1232</MVPWidth>
            <MVPHeight>696</MVPHeight>
            <MVPOffsetX>24</MVPOffsetX>
            <MVPOffsetY>12</MVPOffsetY>
You may need to tweak this for overscan, or if you have no overscan just use 1280, 720,0,0 Video will still play at 1080i/p this is just the menu resolution. You can run the menus at 1920x1080 but it is not recommended.

As for firewall, for simplicity I would recommend opening up NextPVR.exe and NRecord.exe for TCP and UDP for local LAN only rather then getting into the specific ports you need.

Thanks Martin. That has fixed all the problems and I can now access all the functions of NPVR on my NMT - fantastic.

One final question. How do I exit from the NPVR interface on the NMT back to my normal media services menu? I cannot seem to find a key which will do this for me.

Thanks again for all you help setting this up.

Glad, you got it going. It's not obvious but it is the Power key. I think Exit from the menu works too although the Power key is slightly more reliable.
