An Intelligent recording service that would analyze your recording/viewing patterns and recognise the types of programs you like to watch and make suggestions on programs, and record them for you automatically if told to.

Understandably this could be a bad thing with regards to disk space, but the option would be good.
I understand this would also require the categorisation of programs, so may not be possible. But it would be cool Smile

I believe TIVO claimed to do this but not sure how well it worked, anyone use this facility?

Yeah, if you wanted to record everything by genre, and you selected "children's programming", it would record every cartoon, baby show, sitcom with kids in it, child abuse documentaries, ad infinitum.
Total waste of time...in fact, it took far more time weeding out what you didn't want, than it would have to just look at a TV guide, and record a few things.
You can never have enough tuners!

Tivo does this, I shut mine off after it deleted some shows I hadn't watched to record stuff I didn't want. Most Tivo owners I know shut this feature off. It does work, recording similar shows, but in the long run it was worthless.

As long as it only thinks ........

I can't believe that this would ever result in reliable recoring wht you want to see and it is probably not going to improve the WAF factor eighter, they usually want it simple straightforward. I got away wih the WAF factor in the current version quite OK.

Some form of intelligence you might want is present in Xrecord already but it is not the easiest to use from a PVR box (on PC it is OK though).
