MVP pauses periodically

I have my MVP on a 10/100/gigabit wired lan and while watching a TV show (not LiveTV), I get a slight pause every 5 minutes or so. When it pauses, the screen goes black for 1-2 seconds and I see a square box followed by a right triangle in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

Does anyone know what's causing this and how I can correct it???

Thanks,
SteveO

It should do this each time it switches to a new show, but not every 5 minutes or so. Can you time it to see if its at a regular interval?

Do you have tv listings for the said channels?

All tv listings are there and look normal.

Went to begin timing the pauses...
Turned tv back on and noticed MVP light was off; no idea why???
Unplugged/replugged MVP
Searched and found server, display gbpvr main menu
Began watching a tv show
1 minute later it paused as described earlier
20 minutes later and no more pauses.
I'll continue to watch and monitor.

Any thoughts?

The was a known bug fixed in the next release that could have caused it, to do with viewing a channel, then switching away, but coming back within a minute or two.

Are you saying this is a posible explaination for the MVP turning off on it's own or a possible explaination for the periodic pausing?

It's been 35 minutes since that one pause and I have not had another since.

"Thanks" for your thoughts and feedback.

OK, I think I know the answer to my question in post #5. I tried doing what you said... changing chanals and coming right back to the previous chanal and sure enough, it's been pausing every 30 seconds since then.

Man you're good! So any idea when the next release (with this corrected) will be out???

Pausing every 30 seconds has stopped. I have not changed the chanal again. Seems like it paused 6-8 times after the chanal switch/return and then it's back to normal (no pausing).

BTW, I was watching network traffic in task manager and noticed it bumped up from 6% to 12% each time it paused; for whatever that's worth.
