A friend just pointed out there is a thread on GB-PVR on the forums at http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb today. Currently there are 16 posts, with no one really saying anything other than its annoying it requires the 23mb .net runtime to be installed. Oh well...I guess you cant please everyone.

I just read through it. It isn't negative, I'd call it neutral. But how could it be any different if most people there haven't tried it yet. Half the posts seem to be about .NET framework anyway.

I answered a question, but since I cannot get gbpvr to show me live tv yet I couldn't be a real evangelist. Some here could though [Image: smile.gif]

They are a hard lot to please. On the plus side, it gets alot of viewing and causes people to come over and take a look, and generates some good threads such as the one on htpcnews.com.

Alos, how can people complain about a 23mb download when most PVR programs are download only and more than this in size plus 23mb in hard disk space is about a trillionth of a second in mpeg2 [Image: biggrin.gif]

I say, as always, this product is a fantastic acheivement that is only getting better.

is it already time for the "I love my GBPVR" thread?

as always (as long as you're not microsoft  [Image: smile.gif] ) the better solution will win

Not a 'love' thread.  But spreading the word about the app and telling success stories brings in more users, and makes the app get better quicker.

I also don't think it's a 'one app wins and all others lose' situation.  Different people will like all the different apps out there.  Choice is good.  No reason they shouldn't all do well, as long as they are of good quality.

I'm using the best bits of GBPVR and myHTPC at the moment, one of the beauties of being able to configure both apps menus so easily.
