I have MediaMVP and I have setup GBPVR on my PC. I don't have tuner card to record programs. I just want to see EPG info and search for movies etc with MediaMVP from my living room. I am able to successfully download EPG data from zap2it. I can see EPG data in search results. However, when I try to display EPG using "TV Guide" menu option, it gives me following error message

"No channels have been setup. Please run the configuration utility and setup the EPG source......"

Can I display EPG info without a tuner card in my PC?

I remember doing this, when I first started using GBPVR before I bought my tuner and MVP. I remember setting up a test capture source, but I wasn't using a Zap2it, I setup all the info from an XML source. I used TVxb to capture TV guide of the net and converted to it to an XML File which I used to capture all the channel info. Don't know if it's the same with Zap2it.

I just tested it on my machine that does not have a tuner in it. To make it work I set up a dummy capture source. I used a 150mce since that is what I have in my other box. It gave me an error like "it does not appear to have a driver set up for this device" and I just said OK. I set up the EPG and downloaded the info from Zap2it. I started a server off this box (the one without the tuner) and it works just fine on the MVP. I hope this helps.

You could also use the 'External Recorder' plugin as the dummy capture. It doesn't require any hardware.

None of the capture type require any hardware until it actually tries to start recording.

I got it now! Setting up a dummy capture source enabled EPG in TV guide option. Thanks soccerdad! Thanks to all your responses!
