Hi,
I have been running GBPVR on an old PIII 1ghz for some months, it runs fine for me as i've found i generally don't watch live tv anymore! I don't run comskip or any other post processing on it, preferring to use my athlon box.
I do watch recorded programmes whilst it's recording without any issues on either viewing or recording.
It's reliable ( I reboot it about once a week)
reasonably quiet (it does live outside the room i use it in however - the cheapest way to silence your PC IMHO)
It faithfully records anything i throw at it (i use medium for everything apart from films)
I use it on a massive crt apple monitor which i found at a tip!
The specs:
Compaq Deskpro EX (small form factor)
intel motherboard (compaq specific i guess)
500MB RAM (unknown type,I just kept sticking what i had in it until it worked!)
Hauppauge nova t (901) w remote
SB live card for sound out
nvidia 5200 gfx
pci network card
1x80gb hd
1x160gb hd
1xdvd rom
I say try with what bits you've got.
Cheers,
Redsta
