This is a port of a Beyond TV skin by Darren E. This is not a complete skin yet, and only the main menu has been skinned. With that said, I mainly did this to test out a feature that sub added to the last release in the skinning engine. The ability to include the task images in the button itself.

Personally I'm not a big fan of the lone task image being displayed. I'd rather go for the Iconic approach and have the image displayed at all times next to the text it goes with. This is now possible with the GBPVR .95 series.

Anyway, this is more of an experiment for me than anything else, and I may not finish the skin entirely. Regardless when I get to a certain point, I'll start posting the skinning pieces to the wiki as well.

Hahaha! This is great!

Kind of ironic that I'll be able to turn my gbpvr into a giant pirate's hold. Considering what's on it, that seems eerily correct.

Well, what is skinned:

What I have learned doing this project:

1. The Appearance manager is desperately needed.
2. A good graphical editor would be helpful.
3. Comments in the TV Guide that let you know that it uses skinning elements from the Recording skin.
4. The BaseSkin.xml is wonderful. Make a change once, and it propigates it's way through the system.
5. Better documentation of what each item is doing and required to do.
6. An XML Schemas would go along way to helping standardize some of the skins, and could help any editor created to graphically edit the skin files.

It took me roughly two days to basically convert the skin to GBPVR. Not everything is used, but everything is basically there.

I'll skin up the Music Library, and then post the skin to the wiki.

FM Radio, Music Library, and Net Radio are not skinned. All of the other main options should be skinned. I left parts of the blue skin in place, so that the other options should still work.

You will need 0.95.16 or greater to use this skin. I don't have an MVP so I don't know how it looks or works on that device.
