New cheaper PVR-150!!!

Hello all,

It seems that Hauppauge listened to feedback and they released a new PVR-150MCE (i.e. without the remote or the blaster) without the FM tuner.

I just bought one for only $57 shipped. This is a great deal considering the cheapest PVR-150MCE I found was over $70. I already have a Cyberlink USB remote and use the built-in tuner.

It says that it is the same exact card as PVR150 MCE except that it does not have the FM tuner or the pins to install an additional set of AV inputs, neither of which I care about really.

That seems like a good deal. Shipping is about $7 for me. So it will only be $57. I was going to buy the PVR 500, but might pick up one of these instead.

I already bought the MediaMVP for ~$40. Thanks to the past posting discussing the Radio Shack clearance of them. Can you believe I found 1 left at my Radio Shack this past weekend.

So, if I get this card and I already have the MediaMVP (with remote). Will all I need is GBPVR and be good to go?

I posted earlier about having a prewired house, I still need to figure that out later since I have to add some ethernet end plugs to the wires myself.

I've got the wireing through my house also.
Man, the Jacks & wall plates are expensive if you go to Radio Shack or Home Depot. Their like $5 a jack & $4 for a wall plate.

Does anyone have a good place online to buy these things? I found one place that sells the jack inserts for $2 a piece & wall plates for a $1 but they wanted so much to ship them I might as well buy them locally.

Just be glad you dont live in the UK. MVP costs about $120 and my PVR-150 MCE (no radio/IR but with AV in) cost about $100 !!

No wonder you have HDTV before us... we need more time to remortgage our houses to buy one!
