Everything works great on my PVR, with on exception. When I watch Live TV on the PVR server, over time the audio will get out of synch with the video. The audio lags behind the video, and it Live TV starts to look like an old kung fu movie. My recordings are in perfect synch and so is Live TV on the MVP (which I would expect since the MVP is playing back a recording).

I have been following this thread http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...50+drivers about the "pvr150 video timing bug". This weekend I downgraded my drivers from the most recent to 2.0.24.23035. That did not seem to make any noticable difference in the gradual build up of audio lag.

Can anyone shed any light on this and help me fix it?

Thanks,
Daris

Usuaully it's caused by system activity or free resources. When I used to have it, it was because I either had too much a/v post-processing on, or too many services or background operations running. The video becase like a treamill, and the audio was like a runner who was too busy and couldn't keep up.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm still pretty green with this. Can you give me some examples of configuration settings to disable? I have a fairly decent CPU and what I would imagine is sufficient RMA. The machine is a dedicated PVR. Comskip is disabled in the config app, but run using the POSTPROCESSING.BAT, so that shouldn't be an issue.

I'm guessing FFDSHOW is one. I'm not even sure what that one does. On the MISC tab, I've seen a deinterlacing setting. Again, not sure what the difference between the settings are.

Things I'm talking about are outside GB, except try w/ any deinterlacing off (that would be post processingm, as would using another program to improve the image or sound).

What I'm thinking of are things you'll need to find an jusdge for yourself. Programs that are running, virus scanning (active more than passive), indexing, etv, etc.

To do this, you'll basically need to google for sites and tips about system optimazation. I should say this may not be your problem. Also, only do as much as you feel comfortable doing. A real quick test would be to close everything you have running (no need to go crazy..just close all apps but GB, and turn off antivirus temporarially, etc), and then try watching. If it improves, then you have some idea what is causing it.

One thing, and MVP users would need to say, but since it doesn't lag may be significant. You may want to switch the decoders in GB to Intervideo and see if that helps.

Thanks. I'll look into optimization and utilization. That's a great suggestion. I think I'll watch the Task Manager during Live TV and see what's going on besides GBpvr.

Originally delinterlacing was off, and I set it to pass-through. That seemed to help a little, but did not completely solve the problem. I'm not sure what it's set to now. I tried to install DScaler, but my system did not seem to like it. I tried several setting changes to see if I could get it to work. The video stuttered on Live TV and the DVD player/burner sound was trashed on playback. I have sound rendering set to my sound card and set the audio and video decoding to the DScaler, but not both are back to the Intervideo WinDVD. DVD playback is fine again.

I'm already using the Intervideo WinDVD decoder and it is specified on the Playback screen. I was thinking about trying the NVIDIA codec.

All other advice and suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks,
DAris

Dscaler would be a post-processor like I mentioned. Just uninstall it until you get on your feet. You can make it better once you're working.

Try the Intervideo Non-CSS (or whatever it is). It's the decoder that came w/ the 150 card. It's not great, but it's a safe standard.

I know I'm late to the party, but I'm having the same problem. My PVR worked great for a long time but I didn't have enough hard drive space to really record what I wanted. I recently went out and bought a large hard drive and configured gbpvr to use the new hard drive for recording and live tv, and now I have audio lag. Hard drives are essentially the same except for the size; nothing else has changed.
