I've realized that it takes a long time to burn a GBPVR produced MPG unto a DVD. I've enabled Reven's Mux/Demux Utility, but i'm wondering if folks have any ideas on how to speed up the process. I use both Ulead and Nero (depending on my mood). It could take a couple hours to burn a 2 hour mpeg, i'd love to cut it down!

2 hours! it takes about 20 minutes to burn a full dvd on my machine (using the demuxing/remuxing tool each night).

are you reencoding them with ulead ? try dvdauthor thats a good little app.

if you use ulead's dvd movie factory 2.5+ you can select 'fast re-editable' as dvd mode and you'll notice no temp files even get created so it uses considerably less space as well as burning right off soon as you start the process,so however long it takes to actually do the burning, is how long it takes for the whole job..
[all muxing, formatting done realtime on the way to the dvd disc]
i've yet to find anything else that will burn from mpeg directly without intermediate steps..[but i could be wrong] [actually i think it's possible with cdrecord/dvdauthor,but not nearly as easy]
of course that's all if you have dvd-compliant files that don't need recompression to start with...[pvr150 spits them out by default]
just makes sure the 'do not convert compliant files' is checked in the project settings or it'll recompress everything..
hope that helps

I didn't think I was reencoding with Ulead. I've tried dvdauthor as well. The problem with dvdauthor is that I can't add a straight mpg (i have to do mpa and a mp2-i think- files). Let me make sure that fast re-editable is chedked. I'll also recheck all my settings with demux/remux tool

nah im pretty sure dvdauthor will let you add a mpeg (if i remember it asks you "Do you want to split...", and theres a checkbox to say "dont ask me agan"). by default though it prefers to demux the files.
