If there could be a simple control on having GB-PVR machine go an update the time from the internet. I typically leave my machine on 24/7 for weeks at a time before restarting. and the current windows default is set for once a week. I cannot find a simple way to increase that frequency, but I'm using a batch file to update it very 12 hrs. I notice a problem about 2 months ago when I was missing the ending of shows. It seems my machine will run 4 min. fast a day. not a lot, but over a week it adds up to 28 mins. If someone could write a plug-in or if Sub could add it to the list I would be very happy.

Thanks
I did a quick look through the form and sure enough the GB-PVR Community has already tackle this. I found this link http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptsync.asp to handle the issue.

Thanks all who came before me

You can also do it just from the OS. Make sure you have defined a timeserver with:

net time /setsntp:time.windows.com
(corrected Thanks djtaylor for pointing me to this)

next make a batchfile with:

net stop w32time
net start w32time

This forces time update on your machine. Run the batchfile as frequent as you need...

slight correction to your command line there, it's /setsntp Wink

Then again, just double click the xp clock in the notification area and there's a tab for configuring this in the gui and it will automatically update once a week which should be enough for a PC clock.

Details for changing the sync interval here
The figure is the number of seconds between polling, so every 6 hrs = 21600

Heres a reg file for XP, copy the info between the ********* lines
& save it as polling.reg. Polls every 6 hours!

************************************************************************
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\TimeProviders\NtpClient]
"SpecialPollInterval"=dword:00005460

************************************************************************

edit: There isnt a gap next to the 'e' in services, the forum text formatting seems to mess this up Sad
