Ok, Personally I hate Dlink as a brand.

However, has anythought been giving on supporting this thing?

DSM-520

Highlights

MPEG 1 2 and 4

Built in DVD player

Wireless

HDTV, with HDMI connector (among others)

I don't know what i'm asking here, but the MVP1000 is getting a little hard to come by, and it's a few years old.

I use GBPVR for recording shows, perfect for the job! I use TVersity as my media server for my DSM-320. It reads the recordings and serves them up to the D-Link. TVersity is still a work in progress but already outperforms the D-Link supplied software. Just a few minor issues, the most annoying is the poor support for FF/RW. I use comskip+comclean to remove over 75% of my commericals, so the FF isn't missed quite as much.

I purchase an MVP at Radio Shack for cheap, but haven't done much with it. Mostly lack of time, but I also wonder if I will loose my surround sound on my records. I was intending to use it in another room with TV only (no surround system).

The MVP1000 might be great, but I'm having a devil of a time trying to find one.

I've got one coming via CDW, but it's not a given. (My account rep for work told me he had a shipment coming in Monday, and he pull one for me. But I didn't get an email from him today, so he may not have got it for me.

I actually bought a DSM-320 a while back with the thoughts of creating a client for it, but quickly found the way D-Link has implemented it, there isnt really any way (that I could spot) to the get the GB-PVR interface on to it. They've just locked the thing down too much.

I own a DSM-320, and it has it's problems, just as any other device does. The problem is that they under horsepowered the machine, and there isn't enough of a demand from D-Link support to improve it much. The machine has all sorts of potential, if it was executed correctly.

Now with that said, by adding the Tversity media server you can get it functioning decently, but this is due to Tversity, and not D-Link.

Hi!

DLink have a new feature for the DSM-520! (I think it also works on DSM-320) they named it "Active TV"! You need the 1.05 us Version! It is possible to upgrade a "eu" based Device to the "us" Version!
I think over this TCP Connections it must be possible to write something that ist can connect to gbpvr like the MediaMVP! The DSM-520 have a HDMI connector and supports HDTV !
