First thanks for everyones help getting gbpvr up and running. Its always nice to have help for people just starting to use the program. Everything is working great.

The msi remote will work within gbpvr using the hip sofware. I downloaded the first option complete software with plugins. seth the software to MCE and all functions along with the plugins, at tleast the ones Im using works. The link is below.

Im using the dvd button that came standard with gbpvr, I can launch the the program and use the pad to move around in the menu's and start the movie but right now I cant use any of the other functions as ff, rw, stop from the remote buttons. I can bring up the dvd player controls within the player but I can't get those functions to work. I new to all this and perhaps there's a way to map the functions within hip. If you find anything out please post it to this thread as Im sure others with the msi package will be intrested.

Thanks

Evan

I had the same problems (and others) when trying to use HIP. Based on my experience to date, I would say if your remote is not natively supported by GB-PVR then your in for a LOT of little headaches and problems. I'm going to replace my MSI remote with something like an MCE compliant remote...I'm just getting tired of 'fighting' with it.

I ended up exchanging my MSI Theater 550Pro for a Sapphire Theatrix 550 at the computer store where I bought it. Sapphire remote works great out of the box with GBPVR, no tweaking or third-party keymapping software. I'm a happy camper again. Wink

I didnt do my homework as much as i thought, I wonder if the remote can be bought by its self. I bought the msi because of the reviews I read knowing the cyberlink software was junk I didnt know there would be such compatability issues with different remotes and gbpvr.

In my own defense, all remotes are different with no common standards for how to interact with them, so its only reasonable that I can only support the few remotes that I actually have.

Its the same for any other apps, so its not just a GB-PVR problem.

I wasnt blamming the creators of gbpvr just myself for not looking into which of the 550pro cards would work the best. I dont mind buying a new remote if I can keep it under 50.00 as its just for running gbpvr and the computer is not going to dedicated just for this.
