Can someone explain what a dongle is? Thanks!

I'll give it a shot; anybody better acquainted with the MVP can jump in and correct my mistakes.

The MVP is basicly a network appliance that runs a form of Linux. It has a minimal amount of onboard storage; just enough to store a network bootloader. The bootloader finds a server on the network that will provide an image copy of the Linux OS, including any applications you want to run on the MVP. The dongle is that image copy.

I hope you contine to develope this. It has one important factor that for me, IT DISPLAYS THE CORRECT ASPECT RATIO for movies. I have tried in the pass to get this and short of transcoding on the fly this works. Initial I had some trouble loading, but when it takes it works.

In general the mvp will only stay connected for an hour before it loses its connnection.
Specific issues:
Somethimes:
The ODS fades to a light gray and is visible during playback.
Initial boot fails and need to unplug MVP
Always:
I'm using Controus HR skin and the white outline flicker in main menu and TV guide.

I am experiencing the same problem. (Have reported that less precise earlier in this thread). Due to some recent exchange with Sub in one of the 'hibernate threads' I have a renewed interest in gbmvp.bin. I am not yet at the latest release of GBPVR, because I first wanted a couple of things to work for me properly on 96.12.

The MVPFlickerFilter-parameter in config.xml did not seem to have any influence. In the config tool I choose RGB in the video output section. This however was not reflected in the config.xml file. That still had 'Composite' for my specific MVP

Next to the flicker problem I repeatedly noticed that if I press the volume button several times (after it probably has reached its maximum) the MVP reboots.

Installation of GBPVR 97.13 did not change situation: still 1) unacceptable screenflicker and b) MVP looses connection with server.
