GB-PVR / FM Radio / wish

Hi sub!

Is it possible to handle the FM Radio plugin like the "normal" TV channels? I mean: instead the current solution with entering frequencies, names and so to make it looking like TV-Channel?

My wish could look like this:

GB-PVR Config:
Capture Sources, TV-Tuner, external IN and FM-Radio.

We could make use of an EPG for the FM-Channels and save/overwork them more easily.

It were nice too, if we could plan within the "TV-Guide" some recordings for the FM-Tuner, if EPG-Data is used.

What do you think? Too much work? Not enough interests?

I think that GB-PVR is one of the beste MediaCenter Software and should give the user the most possible options.

C'mon, let GB-PVR grow up to the best MediaCenter Software all over the world =) This were only one step, that makes GB-PVR better :-D

Sorry, I've only got so much time available, and FM radio is just not high on the priority list.

This is exactly what I tried to do at first inststall a month and a half ago. I did not yet understand the EPG and XMLTV properly. So I added manually a few radio frequencies to the list in the config tool. (Since then I learned that the FM on my pVR350 probably is broken, because I can't get it to work on the Hauppauge application either). Nevertheless I would appreciate FM radio, because many of my favourite channels are not available via internet, and if they are available, they can't be brought in Shoutcast format. The native Hauppauge application supports more variants like mms streamgates. I do need GB-PVR however for live TV.
So yes I would appreciate this proposed functionality if Sub could spent some time after having finished his other priorities.

Do you know you can already do FM radio in GB-PVR? It doesnt have the radio guide like functionality that ShiningDragon was requesting, but FM radio is certainly there and working (also on MVP).

It is true, that you have to enter manually the frequencys for the FM-Radio. But (not yet *twinkle @ sub* hope) not in the config.exe Application.

The FM-Stations have to be searched/entered and save within GB-PVR running itself!

Just go to the FM Radio Plugin and choose ADD or SCAN for Channels. That's the whole trick.

PS: On my first time i everytime forget to download the lame.ax DShow Filter. Just search for this.

Thanks for your advice. I was aware of this including the lame.ax, and I have tried all. It just does not work. Autotune both in GB-PVR anhd in the HP application does not find any stations. Anatenna signal is OK on other radios. So I think the FM part of the card is just broken. (I still have to take it from the machine for a visual inspection. On other fora I have seen reports of broken FM in otherwise functionall PVR 350 cards.)

THE point I wanted to make is that in my initial ignorance it seemed logical to enter FM similarly as you suggested for the wishlist.

This could be stupid, but you definitly plugged in the FM ariel right?

One never should say definitely, but I have tried five different cables. I did try the cables on both the 350 card and an external FM tuner. So I am pretty convinced it is not the antenna (or cable box rather). next thing I will do is to open the machine and have a closer look to the card, and see if I can trace some signals.

PS: Hope to experiment with the new GBPVR.bin next weekend. First experiences were some instabilities, and some flicker on the screen. So I changed back to dongle.bin Next time I will go through more systematically. Upgrade to 96.8 went like a breeze, but I must admit I still have to install my codecs properly to support DivX XviD Videos. My machine is probably not powerfull enough to support this on the MVP
