I've figured out how to cut the top edge that sometimes is this white fuzz, when watching recordings or live tv (by manipulating the aspect ratio). But the recording itself still has that, so when i burn it on a dvd, i still get the white fuzz on top. Any one know of programs that I can run the file through to crop the top edge--TMPGENC might do it, but that program takes a lot of time. I'm looking for something like VideoRedo--easy to use and fast.
If you want to know why nPVR is the bomb, ask my wife!

You should be able to do it with mencoder's "crop" filter...

ffmpeg is another good choice if you're looking to archive to dvd.
