ATSC HD backup to DVD??

What are people using to archive ATSC HD streams to DVD. I've been using GPVR to record Survivor for my friend stationed in Iraq. I've got about 5 episodes to send him. The recorded streams are huge (4 to 7 GB) so i know there will be some sort of transcoding to do. I looked at the My Movie plugin but it obviously doesn't transcode that file type as it shows the file is 160% the capacity of DVD - too large.

What kind of options are there being put to use? Ideally, I would like to fit 2 or 3 episodes on a DVD. For the record, the recordings are from ATSC digital format and are saved in .dvr-ms format. I've been using a Dvico Fusion 5 to record the streams.

check out hdtv2dvd, it is actually TOO simple. open, drag, drag, click, burn.

The hdtv2dvd program doesn't recognize the .dvr-ms file format that gbpvr records in. i tried that app a few days ago.

Ooooo... Maybe an app that can convert .dvr-ms to .ts? http://www.doom9.org might have something along those lines.

I tried the DVRMSToolbox. It stops converting to Mpeg after about 20 MB or 14 seconds of show. Don't know what is causing it since the debug level / logging is bad with that program.

If I install Power DVD, will that install what I need for the cyberlink muxer? I read in another post that sub said it will record as a native mpeg if the cyberlink muxer is checked under BDA Multiplexer.

EDIT: NOW trying the GBpvrConvert.exe - seems to be converting as of right now - the source file is huge HD recording - taking a while.
