Btw did you notice any difference in colour/brightness/sharpness with this dongle. I think it was Tipstir who said to have better quality. I did not keep this dongle because it takes a lot longer to load.

I have a 4:3 rear projection TV in my lounge, which does has an anamorphic mode, so it's not a problem there. It's just the LCD TV that doesn't have an anamorphic mode.

I've emailed hauppauge (not holding my breath) to see if there is some way to get the MVP to letterbox it's output for 16:9 content.

Didn't notice any brightness difference. It does take longer to load though.

What other benefits/improvements does the beta dongle.bin have?

I noticed a screen for server-selection, so it should be possible to have more mvpservers on one network.

It seems to me that the MVP, which is basically a set-top box, ought to be able to letterbox the picture for me, just like my freeview set-top box does.
Unfortunately, thinking it should be possible doesn't make it so. All the Nova-T does is save the broadcast MPG stream all the aspect ratio sizing is done by whatever is playing it back.

Yes the MVP ought to have more options, it doesn't, that's how it is. Smile

We understand the problem, we all have it, it's how it is. Move on...
