There is no built in support for it, but if it can be configured to send custom keystrokes based on the current application (like more IR devices), then yes, it should work.
I'm not sure what the bundled software is able to do but according to the website it has a girder plugin. I'll bet you can use HIP to. I think Girder plugin's work with HIP. (HIP is free,Girder is $20us)
Another remote option for the same price is the MCE(2005) remote. If it doesn't work out of the box you can change the driver to the HIP driver and use that for control.
That would depend on the software that comes with your irman. As an example, the Hauppauge remotes have an IRRemote.ini file which defines keystrokes, some other IR remotes come with a GUI programme to learn keystrokes.
