I was not sure if I can do comskip while in timeshift, is that possible? If yes what setting enables that? If not, it would be a nice feature to add.

Maybe, but you'd have to be quite a way behind for it to work, and you'd need to configure comskip to run during the recording. I havnt tested it in a long time, but it should still work.

Yes, i should work,

Set
live_tv=1
in the ini file.

You have to be minimum the size of the largest commercial ahead in the timeshift and.....
None of the heuristics work, only primitive detection posibilities in realtime.

For me it does work, like Erik said: you have to wait at least the time of the longest commercial, in fact you have to wait the added up time of all the commercials, because otherwise you will catchup with the live show.
I hope you understand what I mean to say:o

Thanks guys, I will give it a try. Do I still need to enable comskip during recording in the config application? ( I have not tried it and I am happy with it being run after recordings especially with HD material)

You have to run comskip paralell to the recording.
so not after the recording
search the wiki for parallelprocessing.bat
