I've been hospitalized for 7 months because of a car accident and because I don't have any insurance, I almost got my bank account closed. I paid a high bill from the hospital and bought expensive medicines. I'm afraid that if another accident happens my bank account will be totally closed.

I’m planning to get insurance before May. Any suggestions/inputs will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Although the NHS is in such a state here (low standards and long waiting lists) at least we don't have to go through all that shit for health insurance here unless you want to buy the benefits of private health insurance. I have a medical condition and I get all my medicines and test strips for nothing, free eye checks etc although it's not strictly free I pay for it with national insurance as I work, but if I was unemployed I would get the same treatment. This is debating point here whether non-uk residences should get the same service although they have not contributed to it, but thats another issue.
I don't see what you can do, you have paid you bill cleared your debt (I use this word loosely), other than that life throws you a curve ball every now and again, a most people overcome these and carry on.

Maybe asking this question on a health insurance forum might yield better results(!)

otherwise I am with stu8080 - although you may want to have insurance with your optician for when your eyes turn square Big Grin

Thank you for all your suggestions. I’ll check those out. I was able to check out some quotes at website they’re like brokers here so it’s cool.

Thanks again
