I have GBPVR installed on a fresh Win XP Pro installation with a Hauppauge 150 installed. I can launch GBPVR, see the TV listings but when I click Live TV the computer restarts. Any idea? Thanks!

If it causes your computer to restart, then it sound like something is wrong with the drivers.

I just ran HCWCLEAR, restarted, then both parts of the drivers from the Hauppauge web site. Is there something else I should try? Perhaps reinstall GBPVR? Thanks again.

Reinstalling GB-PVR wont help. All I can suggest is maybe try a different version of the Hauppauge drivers.

In order to get my hauppage wintv-pvr150 to work properly with gbpvr I had to use the beta version of the drivers on hauppage's web site. I was getting crashes in the recording service with the release version on the CD and on their website. I'm using beta 2.0.43.24054 without problems available at:

Thanks for the suggestion but it didn't work for me. Ran HCWCLEAR, restarted, installed the beta driver then the middleware but still get the same restart. Device manager shows driver date of 2/23/2006, version 2.0.43.24054.

Is there anything else that I should make sure is installed?

Just a thought, but you might move the pvr-150 to a different PCI slot.

Did you read this and follow this instructions from the SHSPVR-site (http://www.shspvr.com/smf/index.php?topic=9657.0), it seems a bit "much" but it might be worth a try:

How do good uninstall with older drv and app.
In this kit I add a new file called hcw_unregister.bat.
1: Run hcw_unregister.bat.
2: Uninstall everything from Add/Remove Progams with the words Hauppauge and InterVideo FilterSDK.
3: Run hcwclear.exe.
4: Reboot.
5: DO NOT cancel hardware wizard un-check all Option Search location so that it dosen't fine anything, re-run hcwclear.exe one more time dbl check everything over.
6: Check the Device Mangaer for (?) if you see one rigth click uninstall it.
7: Run hcwclear.exe.
8: Check the registry by searching for key words hcw, wintv, globespan and hauppauge "Note: DON NOT REMOVE the registry key hcw4.0" also beware if using 3rdparty software like SageTV, BeyondTV you may fine some registry don't remove them if not sure just post a reply with registry folder name.
9: Reboot now ready to install new drv and app.
AMD Athlon 64 3000, HDD: 80, 120, 200 GB, Hauppauge 350 + 150, MVP, Asus 6000L Laptop client, Asus X50sl client,
Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7.
