Hi all,

Something odd about the MVP I just picked up today. It has an extra RCA style jack on the back of it. I've got the usual red, white & yello rca jacks but I've also got a black one.

There's also a sticker on the back that says: Wired MAC and Wireless MAC.

I'm guessing that the extra jack is for an antenna, however there's no mention of this in the manual, nor is there an antenna included in the box.

Anyone know if this is what it's for? The jack in question is right beside the 10BT jack.

Cheers!

Has anyone heard if the SCART version will have SPDIF as well? (I guess it could be tight.)

Currently this port does not have a function in the operation of the media MVP.

I figure somebody here is using the spdif plug ... if it actually works now. I've searched all over and found no answer to this. If the plug does work, I really dont understand what it gains the user, since it does not sound like it will support AC3. Best I can figure it being digital not analog may provider a cleaner two channel sound, although I'm not sure about using it with video, as it sounds like it may cause sequencing issues.

The cleaner sound is not necessarily just cos it's digital to the amp/tv, or just for AC3. If you've invested in a decent home theater amp then you want that to be doing the audio decoding, not the MVP, as it will have a much better DAC chips.

I received my MVP a couple of weeks ago from Pcalchemy and the SPDIF does function with no issues i.e. latency...I feed the audio analog to the TV and the SPDIF to the stereo receiver for movies, but primarily Shoutcast streaming...I get great audio through my stereo when I want and not have to have it on just for regular TV watching.
