i suppose this is a wish, but anyway,

is there any way that the event text could be changed or extended somehow (perhaps another event) to give the absolute filename of the playing file?

at the moment it just gives the shortfilename.

Ok. In the next release it'll also raise a "EventTypes.CurrentVideoPath" event which will be the file including complete path.
