Hi,

I am slowly getting discovering the possibilites of gbpvr having eventually built a PC with an hauppage 150pvr card but during
my initial tests which involved recording recorded programmes from SKY+
i ran into some difficulties. I hope someone can put be right.

I first realised that i couldnt queue up SKY+ recordings for archive but had to play it live and then record it - Is this the standard way ? Is there going to be future support for queuing ?

Also, i tried to copy 3hrs of rubgy, it ended up splitting the match into 2 files,
the first file was ok but the secord seem corrupt, is this normal to split the file ?is there a way to override

Any help would be much appreciated !

Sorry, but don't think so! The way I understand it, the recording facility and access to previous recordings is dependant on an ongoing Sky+ subscription. You can control a Sky box from GBPVR with an IR blaster and schedule recoderings from the GB's EPG.

The PVR150 with the latest beta blaster software does a great job of controlling any Sky box but could conflict with Sky+ viewing/recordings as it will need to change the channel that you are watching live tv. I have Sky+ but have a second Sky box hooked up to my 150 which is under total control of GBPVR.

If you wanted you could use the Archive facility in Sky+ to record back out to your 150 but it is probably easier using WinTV for that than GBPVR.

Think of GBPVR as an expandable Sky+ with bells and whistles!

GBPVR (I think) is designed around recording TV channels - what you're trying to do is much like copying from video tape, you will have no EPG info or anything as that is internal to the SKY+ box.

What filesystem are you using? ISTR FAT32 has a max file size of 4gb which could be around 3 hours. NTFS doesn't have this limit.
