Hey guys I am in a situation here, I have three hard drives: 1 40gb IDE, 1 80gb IDE and 1 250gb SATA on a sata pci card in my computer. I believe that the 40gb is just too old and is starting to corrupt, unfortuneatly thats where my system is installed and I get messages in event viewer that tells me I have a bad block on that hard drive (multiple messages).
My goal is to do a complete image of that 40 gb hdd and transfer it to my 80 gb and just get rid of the old 40 gb but keep in mind I have other files on my 80gb that I want to keep (Integrate the image with my files?) The thought came to me today as I was making my new windows media player 11 look all pretty with getting the album art and making the albums perfect, that if I need to format and get rid of the 40 gb then all this work is pointless. Another problem is that files on certain drives rely on files on other drives. ie. GBPVR is installed in C: but has the recordings on K:, same with all my music its mixed into all the drives.
What Im wondering is if its possible to move my 40gb to my 80gb and have little to no problems with resetting stuff up? And my major question is how would I go about doing this and what programs do I need. Thanks As always
