Choppy sound problem

I'm getting extremely choppy sound when playing mpegs recorded by GBPVR on a PC equipped with an ATI Radeon 9200. Previously, playback was fine when using the onboard VIA S3 Unichrome video. I installed the ATI decoder but that didn't help.

How can I solve this ATI problem?

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach you gbpvr.exe-native.log and we'll take look.

Sorry I wasn't more clear Sub. This is not a GB-PVR problem, but a playback problem that occurs when I play GBPVR generated mpegs on a different machine. They play great on all my machines but this one particular box with a Radeon 9200 and I'm stumped as to why.

I've installed new drivers,etc w/o any luck yet.

To recap: MPEG playback is terrible on one and only one machine, XP SP2, ATI Radeon 9200 w 128Mb, 900GB RAM 1.6Ghz P4. When the system is using the built-in VIA display playback is faultless. I've tried upgrading the drivers w/o any luck in solving the problem.

Did you try to disable VIA display(in BIOS) when you were using the ATI.

Unfortunately, no effect.

Maybe an IRQ-conflict for your ATI?

I didn't find any IRQ conflicts, but I did make the problem go away...by installing an Nvidia 5200/MSI card. Absolutely no problems with it so far. I'm wondering if I may just have a bad ATI card here.

I had earlier problems with this card (same symptoms, choppy mpeg) in a linux box, but I never suspected the card, but though it was a Samba problem.
