Hi sub ^^

I would like to ask if it were possible tu use an animated picture or a movie as background, instead using a normal image.

It could be very interesting to have a Mini-Clip, which displays moving water, or something like that.

Is it possible? If yes, which command should i use for this within mainmenu/skin.xml?

From what I have seen on the wiki, you can use a .mpg file, just it takes more resources to do so.

Quote:Animated GIFs and Flash are not supported. It is also suggested to avoid using an MPEG as the background as, although this does work, it uses a lot of resources and only partly works on MVP’s.

Just use "Whatevername.mpg" instead of "background.jpg"

^^; I tried this already, but it doesn't work this way... =p
I think the "DrawImage" Tag isn't the right one. I associate this one with a standing picture; the mpg itself should be played and repeated nonstop. Perhaps there's a special tag for this?

If it still works within GBPVR, maybe it would use DrawVideo.

I don't know, haven't tried.

the mpg-thing doesn't work. you'll have to use png, jpgs or other image formats, no videos... you could try with animated gifs....

Animated GIFs does not seem to work.
The Christmas theme from MP has an animateg GIF with snow falling.....but withing a skin the snow dows not fall, but freezes :-)
Using a flash a a backgroung or an object would be cool.
Best Regards

So, first thx to all for your help ^^

But whether .mpg, nor .gif seems to work. Mhm..., using Overlay or Active Movie or Inset would be possible for sure; but stupid too.

Wuha... it's so crazy... so many ideas and not enough experience to built this into my new skin ^^; What a silly world *smile*

I can see it with my eyes... water... a sea... it's moving... mhhm... beautiful...; or a Fire... or a Hawai Theme..., falling Snow Flakes were cool too ^^;

Moah... to much dreaming... back to skinwork... much to do for now :-D
